Crafting at the Camp
About Us
We are women of all ages and experiences who enjoy many different types of crafts!
We gather three times a year for a weekend retreat at the Virginia District Nazarene Camp in Buckingham, Virginia.
It's the perfect chance to slow down, get creative, eat some great food and spend time with people who share your love of making things! Bring your favorite projects, learn new techniques, swap ideas, laugh a lot and enjoy a weekend filled with crafting, friendship and inspiration.
Whether you finish one project or five, you'll leave with great memories and creative new energy!
You can plan to arrive on Thursday after 3pm if you can, or anytime on Friday.
You'll get a 6-foot table of your very own, unlimited time to work on your projects and a relaxed schedule with minimal interruptions. Meals are provided on-site starting with a variety of soups brought down to the Family Life Center for lunch on Friday, We'll head to the dining hall for supper Friday evening. Brunch and dinner will be served on Saturday and brunch again on Sunday before we have to pack up and head home no later than 3pm on Sunday.
There are several options for where you can sleep, if you choose to sleep that is!
The first option is in the women's dorm. You will have your own bunk bed. Option 2 is one of the back rooms in the Family Life Center. You will need your own cot or air mattress. There is also limited upgraded housing available for an additional fee. Click the "Register" tab for more information on upgraded housing.
If you have craft supplies to sell or give away, go ahead bring them. If you have products to sell, you’ll need to bring your own display table. We will also have a "free table" available for everyone to share things you no longer need!
Everyone knows you have to have snacks while crafting! So in edition to the wonderful meals provided by camp, there is a full kitchen in the Family Life Center which includes refrigerators, a microwave, an oven and an ice machine! Don't forget to bring a snack to share in the community snack room! If you're wanting to go out to eat, there are a few local places you can hit up. Wherever you choose, you will not go home hungry!!
If you’ve lost feeling in your legs or your eyes no longer focus, feel free to take a nap or a walk across the beautiful grounds of the Virginia District Nazarene Camp.
